Trick or treating (Luisa)

Last Friday, Ashanti and I went trick or treating on the Malecon. Trick or treating isn't common here but we saw a few other kids doing it. We went to about 10 stores but it was Ashanti's first time and she was timid and didn't want to go to many stores. But we had fun and got a good amount of candy (see photo). Here is a list of the different kinds of candy we got:

Halls: A normal cherry flavored Halls that in the US would be a cough drop but here it is sold as candy. We heard from someone that at restaurants they give them after the meal like a mint.

Nikolo: A candy bar that tastes like chocolate covered rice crispies with nuts.

Manicho: A milk chocolate candy bar with peanuts.

Rellenos: Hard milk candies with chocolate inside.

Jaazz: Mint and orange flavored candies that again in the US would be considered cough drops.

La universal: Pineapple, tangerine, and naranjilla (cross between a tomato and an orange) flavored hard candies.

Choco maní: Chocolate hard candy with crushed peanuts mix in.

Arcor: A lemon flavored chewy candy.

Icapeb: A tamarind flavored chewy candy.
