It depends who you ask.... According to Luisa, it's perfect for roller-blading along the beach in shorts and t-shirt. According to Ashanti (10 yr old host) it's a good time to curl up in a warm blanket to do homework on the couch. Her mom wears a fleece poncho inside during these days. After all, it is the coolest month of the year, with high temps in the low 70s and low temps of 60! Our host family is looking forward to November when it warms up, around 80 in the days. We think this season is just grand!!
The weather also depends on where you currently are on the island. The first weekend we were here, we left town (where we live on the SW coast) in mid-day when it was sunny and 75. Fifteen minutes later we were in the hills where is was a cooler, cloudy 65, and with some rain it felt chilly to us Hoosiers. As we hiked up to the top of a volcano, the wind increased. We were glad our hosts prompted us to bring our raincoats and long sleeves along! But, after another fifteen minute drive to the other side of the island (SE) we were again on a beach, in full, warm sunshine.
