Swimming with the sea lions (Luisa)

Yesterday we drove about 40 minutes to a nice beach on San  Cristóbal Island call Puerta China. There were very strong currents and big waves. One  wave was about 10 feet high! Some sea lions were having fun riding the waves with us. They would waddle into the water, come out near us, wait for a good wave, and ride it all the way back to the shore. Then they would roll out of the water onto the sand and waddle back to the shade to lay down and rest again. It was really fun riding the waves with the sea lions. I didn't see any sea turtles but some of the others that weren't swimming hiked up a small mountain to look over the water and they saw a couple sea turtles swimming in the water. It was a fun afternoon at the beach.
