Iguana Park (Luisa)

Today we also went to an iguana park in downtown Guayaquil. There were tons of iguanas, pigeons, and turtles in the park. We saw one pigeon that was sitting on top of an iguana! Iguanas covered all the trees. We saw one tree that had at least 25 iguanas on it. Most of them blended in well and were hard to spot but there were some that were striped with orange and were bigger and easier to spot. They measured between about 2.5-3 feet including their long tails which were half of their total length. It was very fun to watch them play and lay around in the park!

  1. Hi from goshen! Glad you all made it safe to Ecuador. Am remembering Luke and I as we traveled to the US from Paraguay--we had a variety of transportation modes before we finally made it home and it was exhausting! Sounds like you have had lots of new, exciting experiences already. You aren't missing much in goshen--it rained most if the day. Carissa said xx ran outdoors most of practice in the rain (but she said it was fun) and tonite Obama gives a speech about the U.S. And ISSIS I believe. Love to you all, Sara

  2. A very interesting description of the iguanas --- they are different from the iguanas we saw in Gaudaloupe And the marine iguanas you will see in The Galagagos will be much different too. I really like that all four of the Dutchersmiths are writing on your blog.
